[openstandaarden] Succesje van onze lobbying rond de VRT?

Minister van Mechelen heeft in zijn toespraak ter gelegenheid van
"Vlaanderen Interactief" (interactieve TV) expliciet de noodzaak van
open standaarden aangehaald :-) Ik citeer uit

"De partners gaan een open standaard ontwikkelen, de Multimedia Home
Platform (MHP)." Maar als ik me niet vergis bestaat die standaard al,
niet? (www.mhp.org) Ik vermoed dus dat ze eigenlijk willen zeggen: "we
gaan die standaard gebruiken"...

Wat patenten op die standaard betreft lees ik het volgende op

"The patent coordinator's work is to review declarations made of
patents essential to these and other DVB specifications.  It is the
first step in a process leading to the formation of a patent pool
covering these standards. The objective is to create efficient access
to the intellectual property rights necessary for implementation and
offered on terms fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory."

Dit laatste vinden wij niet zo leuk...
